Our Littles
Little Brothers and Little
Sisters come from all social-economic, racial, cultural and
religious backgrounds. Their personal backgrounds, interests,
aptitude and needs vary greatly. All desire a friendship with a
caring adult volunteer.
Who
is eligible for the program?
Children interested in the Big
Brothers Big Sisters program must meet the following guidelines:

Ages between 6 to 15 years old

Reside in the North Central West Virginia
service area

Child and parent/guardian desires to be in the
program
-
Child is capable of establishing a one-to-one
relationship with a volunteer
-
Parent/guardian cooperates and facilitates the
development of the one-to-one relationship with a volunteer
Enrolling in the
Program
Parents/children interested in
being part of Big Brothers Big Sisters must:

Request services (either by a parent/guardian)
or be referred by school official/counselor in cooperation
with parent/guardian

Complete and submit an application

Complete orientation and training
-
Meet with a member of the Big Brothers Big
Sisters staff to complete an interview
After
the steps above have been taken, the case manager will recommend
that the child be accepted or denied to the program. The final
recommendation will be made by the executive director.
If
you are a counselor referring a child you can also print out and
submit a Professional Referral form.
If your child would make a great “little”, please complete
the client application and return it to Big Brothers Big Sisters
