It Works!!

Big Brothers and Big Sisters make a BIG impact in the lives of children. In a recent study conducted for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, Little Brothers and Little Sisters who met with their Bigs regularly were:

• 46 percent less likely to start using drugs and 27 percent less likely to start drinking 

• 54 percent less likely to skip a day of school and 37 percent less likely to skip a class 

• One-third less likely to hit someone 

• More trusting of their parents or guardians, less likely to lie to them, and felt more supported and less criticized by their peers and friends 

Locally, we find that children matched with Big Brothers and Big Sisters become more Confident, Competent, and Caring individuals.
